Our teachers at Lakewood Community Child Care are dedicated to the care of your child. Not only will they provide your infant with their basic needs, but our teachers will help them explore lights, colors, sounds, textures, sign language and more. Infants cover many milestones within the first year of life, and we at LCCC are excited to nourish that growth through our loving and dynamic rooms.
APPROACHES TOWARD LEARNING
Our Infant Room is a happy, protected place. The teachers give the infants their attention. We play, sing, dance, rock, read, talk to, and cuddle “our babies.” We rotate and vary toys. Our approach is with strong emphasis on verbal skills.
Our program is flexible and open-ended. Toddlers need to be challenged without being frustrated or overwhelmed. We at LCCC continue to explore the world through the following ways:
At LCCC, we believe that children within this age group learn and succeed by playing and watching their older friends.
This often leads to children being curious and exploring potty training at a younger age. Although your child might not be ready until they are closer to three, we still encourage them by being in constant communication and explaining how your body feels. Our teachers want to work as a team with you to conquer all of the amazing milestones your child will experience in these short 18 months!
The Preschool Room is a “Family Blend” of three and four year olds. This natural combination of ages is used successfully to reduce competition, stimulate and peak interest, and creativity to foster cooperation as the children learn from one another.
Our Pre-K classroom utilizes the Creative Curriculum that promotes the following for our students:
Our curriculum is aligned with Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards. In Pre-K we foster a healthy and safe environment for young children to learn and flourish through play, build friendships, and learn to love school! We work each day to ensure that your child is on track for kindergarten by building each child a portfolio for parents to see their progression.
We at LCCC want your child to feel confident enough to enter kindergarten!
